There is no clear words that show customers paying .95 one time are actually signing up for a subscription. Nothing is obvious when you check out. Ironically, a website that says it helps people stay away from scams feels like a scam itself.

Bad experience.

Bad experience. They apologize many times but never seem to change. They continue the same pattern over and over again. Is this grounds for a class action lawsuit? Worthless service in my opinion, but their approach feels like a scam by charging a monthly fee of 29,95USD without consent. I paid via PayPal, and they promised to refund me, but only returned 22,46USD, keeping 7,50 for themselves. If that's not a scam, I don’t know what is. After the hastle of another complaint with PayPal, I finally got the rest back. Maybe they don't improve because many people don't notice these charges, which seem like a scam to me. Bad.

I wasn't planning to write a review, but after seeing some of these, I had to. Some folks say they're tricked and charged, but Spokeo is clear about it being a TRIAL OFFER. Don’t let these negative reviews mislead you. This is a solid site that offers a lot of info. It's YOUR job to end your trial and cancel your subscription…just like any other free trial. Nothing is concealed. If people got charged, it’s their mistake. They either missed the details or forgot to end their trial. It’s that easy.

I've been with Spokeo since '09 as a $29 subscriber. Spokeo provides useful info, but I needed more recently, so I paid an extra $19. However, it didn't add anything. I asked for a refund with the $29 plan and was initially refused. I had to argue with Spokeo until they finally refunded me.

I don't have an opinion about the service itself, but I guess it's fine. If I had to look, I'd use this service. However, I don't remember signing up for it and requested a full refund. It took a lot of effort, and the fact that I was enrolled in a subscription at all gets three stars from me. The person I talked to was nice and professional, but I had to keep asking and bring up the dispute. I'm completely happy with the outcome. Thanks. Spokeo should send everyone an email and text the day before to remind them that their subscription will renew the next day.

I got a report for 1.99€. Nice report, all good. Didn't realize I got a subscription for 29.95€ too. Contacted support, quick response. Explained, got full refund as I didn't use subscription, just saw the report. Happy, recommend Spokeo :)

The search didn't help, I could've done it on my own. Then, they took $29.95 from my account monthly without permission. I asked for a refund and to cancel, but they won't give it. I'm trying with Paypal now, maybe they'll help.

Terrible service for the cost.

Terrible service for the cost. They refused to provide any information without a subscription. I simply wanted to make a single payment for the information, but they charged me too much for the limited content I received. Their business practices are subpar. Now they are attempting to filter out this review using their review system, so others won't see it. This is an untrustworthy company!

My subscription's been going strong for 6+ years, and I'm not letting go. Helped me reunite with old classmates and still keeps me in the loop with folks I'd lost touch with. Is it flawless? Nah. But it's pretty darn good!
